What is Therapeutic Painting?

We all need an advocate.  Exclusive, individualized encouragement is strengthening. In our relationship, you are in charge of setting your own expectations for yourself.  I will help you set reasonable, loving expectations.

I will work with you by listening and helping you clarify which aspects of your life might be harmful and  are in need of letting go.  Like a seed waiting to unfold into blossoming life, we too, need to be nourished and to remove hindrances that may be suppressing our growth.  I will help you cultivate new skills in order to navigate relationships with  children,  parents,  partners, and co-workers and, most importantly, with your authentic self.

When things become challenging, we usually revert back to our old patterns of reaction rather than responding from a place of balanced clarity. Fear can paralyze us, creating a barrier to making much needed changes. Together, we will strive for bravery. This might mean recognizing and  eliminating habits of using unkind, hurtful words when we feel frustrated. It might mean healing how we were treated in our own childhood so we can begin to transform relationships with children and partners. It might mean  recognizing and releasing habits that cause self-harm like unhealthy consumption of/addiction to media, substances, food, fasting, or sex. I will help you find a path back to your true self. 

 

In our sessions together we build mutual trust.  We create a safe space. I listen to you.  You feel safe being vulnerable and ready to begin.

 

Together, we make a plan for your renewal.

How it works:

 1. I receive your initial contact form. 

​

2. We arrange a time for our first phone call conversation.  Plan for  at least 20 minutes for this call, although often it can be more like 40. 

​

3. If you are ready to take up the work of making changes together, we schedule our regular session time right away.

​

4. Appointments  are available evenings and  on weekends.  Sometimes  when we are new at self-healing work, those are the days we can extract ourselves from the busy rhythm of the work week and immerse ourselves best into our healing practice.
